Licensed Massage Therapist

Brianna graduated from the National Massage Therapy Institute (NMTI) in October 2012. She is a member of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB). Since graduation, Brianna has taken continuing education classes in CranioSacral Therapy, Geriatric massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage and Thai massage.

Her menu of services at A Magical Escape includes our signature Escape Custom massage - a combination of Swedish and Deep Tissue, Heated Bamboo, Hot Stone, Sticks and Stones, CranioSacral, Lymphatic Drainage, Thai, Prenatal, Back Rescue and Couples massage as well as full body, back and hand/feet scrubs, aromatherapy, cold stone face massage and enhanced scalp massage.. She considers her specialties to be healing touch/light touch and prenatal.

Brianna enjoys doing very specific work to help a particular ailment or issue, tailoring her sessions to allow her to fully cover one or two areas of the body each time to get the most out of her skills.

Brianna's schedule is generally open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12 pm to 7 pm, Thursdays 12 pm to 4 pm and Fridays 12 pm to 7 pm.

Marcellus

Licensed Massage Therapist

Marcellus graduated from the Academy of Massage and Bodywork in January 2020. He is a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).

His menu of services at A Magical Escape includes our signature Escape Custom Massage - a combination of Swedish and Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Back Rescue and Couples massage as well as hand/foot and back scrubs, aromatherapy, cold stone face massage and enhanced scalp massage.

Marcellus' focus is mainly with specific work and his pressure is medium to deep. His schedule is generally open on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays 10 am to 7 pm.

Rachel

Certified Massage Technician

Rachel graduated from the Harris School of Business in April 2015. She is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).

Rachel considers her specialties to be Swedish and Deep Tissue massage.

Rachel's schedule is generally open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9 am to 4 pm, Fridays and Saturdays 9 am to 1 pm.

Renee

Licensed Massage Therapist

Renee graduated from the National Massage Therapy Institute (NMTI) in November 2011. She is board certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP). Soon after graduation, she took continuing education courses in Mu-Xing (heated bamboo) massage therapy and hot stone massage. Renee obtained her Aromatherapy certification in May 2016. She is also certified in ACE MASSAGE CUPPING™ THERAPY LEVEL 1.

Renee likes to incorporate all techniques into each massage to address each client's individual issues.

Renee's schedule varies from week to week. She is not currently accepting new clients.

Shannon

Certified Massage Technician Aesthetician

Shannon gradated from the Academy of Massage and Bodywork in 2018 for Aesthetics and in September 2021 for massage therapy.

Her menu of services at A Magical Escape includes all of our facial services, our signature Escape Custom Massage - a combination of Swedish and Deep Tissue, Heated Bamboo, Prenatal, Back Rescue, Couples massage as well as body treatments, scrubs, body wraps, aromatherapy, cold stone face massage and enhanced scalp massage.

Shannon considers her specialties to be skincare, body treatments and relaxation massage.

Shannon's schedule is generally open on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays from 4:30 pm to 7 pm, Fridays from 10 am to 7 pm and every other Saturday 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday 10 am to 4 pm.

What is the difference between what a Certified Massage Technician and a Licensed Massage Therapist can do?

The primary differences are the amount of hours of schooling required to practice, the exam, and the scope of practice allowed. Only Licensed Massage Therapists (LMT) can work on medically diagnosed conditions and work on referrals from a physician or chiropractor. A Certified Massage Technician(CMT) is prohibited from doing either of these and may not call himself or herself a “therapist” nor use the word “therapy” in describing his or her profession nor in any way imply that he or she is certified to practice massage therapy.
